The project in Roslison was developed by ourselves in conjunction with the landowner; this created an exciting opportunity to fully express our design ideas.
The location within the village formed segregation between houses within the Main Street and Burton Road. At the rear of the site the village church formed a focal point to the village. The scheme was designed to link the two street frontages on Main Street and Burton Road, whilst maintaining views through to the church. This was achieved by designing three houses along the street frontage and forming a driveway through to a forth dwelling at the rear.
The rear property was designed to relate to the church, giving the appearance of a vicarage. This dwelling was to include three storeys and a basement, along with an ‘orangery’ style kitchen to the rear of the property, we added a full-length glazed roof lantern which achieved a stunning effect.
Each of the houses on the site were also totally bespoke including a farmhouse style dwelling with attached barn. This had a traditional appearance to the street entrance, whilst the rear and interior were designed with a contemporary look. Views of the church to the rear were framed within a two storey atrium window, with an internal gallery overlooking the dining area below and an external balcony was formed off the master bedroom creating a beautiful roof garden, again with views of the church.
The level of detail of the design in the property was also taken into items such as
balustrading and towel rails which resembled works of art rather than just functional items.
