Anthony Rice
Director

Anthony is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Architectural Technologists and brings over 30 years of experience in architecture and urban design to his work. After spending a decade with leading housing developers such as Bloor Homes, Bryant Homes, and Wilson Connolly, he founded Urban Designs. Throughout his career, Anthony has successfully managed a wide range of development projects, from large-scale residential and commercial developments to bespoke one-off homes and smaller-scale ventures. Specialising in masterplanning, his expertise spans both small developments and large, mixed-use housing and commercial schemes. As the founder and principal of Urban Designs, Anthony oversees all projects, with a particular focus on the early concept phases, where he collaborates closely with his team to shape innovative, sustainable solutions.

Justina Rice
Director

Justina is an integral part of the business working alongside co-Director, Anthony. While much of her work now takes place behind the scenes, her role is essential to the smooth running of the business. She oversees the financial side of the practice and plays an active role in recruitment and HR, whilst supporting the team and the continued growth of the practice.

Chris Parkin
Architectural Technologist
Chris has over 25 years’ experience in architecture, joining Urban Designs in 2017. He has a wealth of experience in residential and conservation projects working through RIBA work stages 1–6. He has worked on numerous large masterplanning schemes from inception through to completion and has an understanding of the breadth of disciplines required to deliver successful schemes.
Simon Jones
Architectural Technologist
Simon brings over 20 years of experience in architecture, having contributed to a diverse range of projects across both the private and public sectors, including residential, education, and commercial developments. With a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to solve complex technical challenges, Simon excels in understanding construction techniques and ensuring the buildability of projects. He specialises in RIBA work stages 3–6, while also offering expert advice during stages 1–3. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architectural Technology & Digital Innovation from the University of Derby.
Rob Lord
Architectural Technologist
Rob brings over 11 years of architectural experience, joining Urban Designs in 2020. Skilled across RIBA work stages 1–6, he has led the design of bespoke houses, residential developments, and commercial schemes. His prior role with a specialised planning consultancy honed his expertise in planning policy and procedures, while his progression as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Architectural Technologists deepened his knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including the Building Safety Act’s Principal Designer role. With proficiency in a range of software tools, Rob combines technical precision with creativity to deliver solutions tailored to client aspirations.
James Bacchus
Architectural Technologist
James joined Urban Designs in 2022, contributing a wealth of experience in residential architecture and master-planning. His portfolio spans bespoke homes, residential developments, and larger site layouts, reflecting a balance of creativity and technical precision. Since joining the team, James has honed his knowledge of building regulations and technical detailing, ensuring every project aligns with industry standards. Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Twinmotion, James brings visually compelling designs to life through detailed CGI’s and immersive 3D presentations. Passionate about collaboration and innovation, he is dedicated to delivering tailored solutions that bring clients’ visions to reality.
Jemma Webster
Office Administrator
Jemma is the newest member of our team, bringing a wealth of experience from a range of administrative roles. Renowned for her exceptional attention to detail, she ensures that every task is completed to the highest standard. Her expertise in organisation and efficiency is invaluable, enabling the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Jemma’s contributions are integral to the team, fostering seamless collaboration and allowing everyone to focus on their core responsibilities.
