Developer – Conversion Apartments – Copsewood Grange, Warwickshire

Urban Designs was appointed by Morris Homes in 2015 to provide architectural and technical expertise for the restoration and redevelopment of Copsewood Grange, a Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1872.

Following years of vacancy and decline, and a heritage-led campaign to save the estate, the project required a careful balance of conservation and adaptation to modern residential use.

Our scope included the full technical design and replan of the Grange and adjoining Copsewood Lodge, ensuring compliance with heritage requirements while delivering functional and high-quality living spaces. The result is the transformation of the Grange into 17 individual apartments and the conversion of the Lodge into a single three-bedroom home. The scheme preserves key architectural features while meeting current standards for residential design, providing long-term viability for this important piece of Coventry’s industrial and architectural history.
