Urban Designs were commissioned to deliver a bespoke self-build home in the UK, with planning permission granted in 2019 and construction commencing in early 2020.

Just weeks into the build, the Covid-19 pandemic brought the project — like much of the world — to an unexpected halt.

With site restrictions, material shortages, and showroom closures, our clients faced unprecedented challenges. What began as a straightforward self-build quickly became a test of resilience. Throughout this period, Urban Designs remained a consistent presence, providing full support across all phases — from concept and planning to detailed technical design and on-site guidance.

Despite the disruption, the project was completed in July 2022, resulting in a thoughtfully designed, contemporary home that reflects both the aspirations and perseverance of its owners. A recent visit revealed not just a beautifully finished house, but a warm, lived-in home — a lasting testament to adaptability, dedication, and well-executed design.
